Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to remember things such as whether you are signed in or which preferences you have chosen. We also use browser local storage, which works in a similar way and is covered by this policy.

We group cookies and similar technologies into three categories:

• Strictly necessary — needed to run the website and keep your account secure
• Analytics — optional, used to understand how the website is used so we can improve it
• Marketing — optional, used for advertising and marketing attribution where applicable

Optional cookies are never set before you consent. Nothing in the Analytics or Marketing categories is loaded or activated until you turn that category on, and you can use every part of Indefo if you reject non-essential cookies.

These are always active because the website cannot function properly without them:

• Authentication and session storage used by our backend provider (Supabase) to keep you signed in and to protect your account — stored in your browser's local storage under keys beginning “sb-”
• Security and abuse-prevention tokens used to protect forms and requests
• Your cookie consent choice, stored under “indefo-cookie-consent”, so we do not ask you again on every page
• Interface preferences such as your selected currency (GBP, EUR or USD)
• Cookies set by Paddle, our payment provider, during checkout so a payment or subscription can be completed securely

Analytics cookies would help us understand which pages are visited and where people run into problems, so we can improve Indefo. We only set them if you consent. At present Indefo does not run a third-party analytics service, so consenting to this category currently enables nothing additional. If we introduce an analytics provider, it will only load for visitors who have consented to this category and we will update this policy.

Marketing cookies would be used for advertising, remarketing or measuring the performance of campaigns, including any future Indefo Marketplace or affiliate activity. We only set them if you consent. At present Indefo does not run advertising or marketing trackers, so consenting to this category currently enables nothing additional.

Some cookies and storage are set by trusted providers we use to operate the service:

• Supabase — authentication, database and secure file storage for your account and pet records (strictly necessary)
• Paddle — payment processing and subscription management for Indefo Premium; Paddle may set its own cookies during checkout (strictly necessary for payments)
• Google — used only if you choose to sign in with Google, and only at the point you use that option (strictly necessary for that sign-in method)
• Google Fonts — used to load our typefaces; no advertising cookies are set

These providers process data under their own privacy notices. We do not sell your personal information or your pet's records.

• Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser
• Your consent choice is kept for up to 12 months, after which we will ask again
• Sign-in and session information lasts until you log out or it expires, typically within days
• Payment provider cookies follow Paddle's own retention periods

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies and storage may prevent you from signing in or using parts of your pet account.
